Smugglers' Notch uses a four-step disciplinary process. The process is generally followed consecutively, but Smugglers' Notch reserves the right to bypass one or more of any of these steps, including step four, based on the severity of the infraction. The process includes the following steps:
1. Documented Verbal Warning with the discussion documented on a form signed by you and your Supervisor.
2. Written Warning with the discussion documented on a form signed by you and your Supervisor, and a meeting with a Supervisor and the Operations Manager.
3. Decision-Making Leave. This time off is given to you to contemplate your employment at Smugglers' Notch, and you will be expected to meet with a Supervisor and the Operations Manager both prior to and following your leave.
All forms and documentation will be submitted to the Human Resources Office to be placed in your personnel file. (Remember that with advance notice, you may review your personnel file in the presence of the Human Resources Office staff who maintain the files during your employment at Smugglers' Notch. This right terminates upon your termination of employment.) If more than 6 months have passed since the last disciplinary action, the process will normally start again.
