Welcome to the SFU Training Site

At the start of your employment with Summer Fun University at Smugglers' Notch, you are required to complete pre-season training on a wide variety of topics before you may be put on the schedule for work. The topics covered in pre-season training include:

  • Safety (including Epi-Pens, blood borne pathogens, first aid, harassment, workplace violence, and the safety program)
  • Emergency Action Plans (for Loose Moose and severe weather)
  • Adminstrative Policies (such as payroll policies and procedures)
  • Minor Training (each of the 4 minors plus child development and licensing)
  • Daily Tasks (check-ins, lunch, shuttling, and pool policies)
  • Rainy Day Plans (check-in and -out, locations, activities)
  • Customer Service (working with guests and kids, how to handle disgruntled guests)
  • and Other Information, such as ropes courses, the Smuggs rally, games, etc.
  • To help you, we are providing much of the information provided to you in training here on the Smuggs University website so it is available to you and convenient to access. You can follow the links to the left for most of this information, but there is a wealth of information provided throughout this website to assist you, so if you can't find what you need here, feel free to visit the site map to help you find it.

    As always, if you have questions, your best resource is your Supervisor. They are here to help you! You can reach them by visiting your program's page (SFU > Programs > *Your Program*) and sending an email through the "Contact" link or by finding a specific individual's contact information and office hours through the "Staff" link in your program's menu.
