Smuggs' Disciplinary Procedures

Smugglers' Notch uses a four step discipline process. The process is generally followed in a successive manner, but Smugglers' Notch reserves the right to begin the process with any step, including step four, and/or to bypass one or more of the steps.

1. Verbal Warning with the discussion documented on a form signed by you and your Supervisor.

2. Written Warning with the discussion documented on a form signed by you and your Supervisor.

3. Decision-Making Leave of one day. This paid time off is given to you to contemplate your employment at Smugglers' Notch.

4. Termination should be a voluntary decision by you to leave, but Smugglers' Notch may opt to terminate you.

All forms and documentation will be submitted to the Human Resources Office to be placed in your personnel file. (Remember that with advance notice, you may review your personnel file in the presence of the Human Resources office staff who maintain the files during your employment at Smugglers' Notch. This right ends upon your termination of employment.) If more than 6 months have passed since the last disciplinary action, the process will normally start again.
